It's our 15th Birthday!

This fall, the Milton Foundation for Education will celebrate its 15th Birthday. The Milton Foundation for Education has awarded $2 million in grants to teachers and schools since its creation in 1995, primarily from Celebration for Education, the Monster Dash and contributions to its annual fund. Look for the stars at the open houses this fall.

MFE Announces Winners of 10th Annual Outstanding Teacher of the Year Awards

Seven exceptional teachers in the Milton public schools had a very nice surprise on Friday, April 30.  Trustees of the Milton Foundation for Education visited these teachers in their classrooms and informed them that they had been selected to receive a 2010 Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award.  Superintendent Mary Gormley, school administrators, and scores of excited students crowded the classrooms to clap and cheer and enjoy the early morning cake and ice cream party that the MFE provided each of the winning teachers.

Milton Foundation for Education Awards Fall Teacher Grants

On January 12, dozens of teachers and staff at the Milton public schools had a very welcome letter in their mail box informing them that their request for a grant from the Milton Foundation for Education had been approved. Twice a year, in the spring and fall, the MFE accepts grant proposals from anyone in the Milton public school system. A committee comprised of MFE volunteers and MPS teachers and staff review the
proposals and determine whether the request falls within the foundation’s granting guidelines. This cycle, the MFE approved 24 of the 39 requests, for a total of $20,025.

Spirits Soar “Up and Away” as Celebration Raises Money for Milton Schools

Over 400 parents, teachers, school administrators, and residents had a
wonderful night out at the 11th Annual Celebration for Education on November 21.  Organizers said the event raised more than $100,000 for the Milton public schools.  Celebration for Education is sponsored by the Milton Foundation for Education and has raised more than $1.5 million for Milton public schools since 1998.read full article.
