Competitive Grants Program

The Milton Foundation for Education is pleased to announce the winners of the grants for the Fall of 2009.  Thanks to your generosity, we were able to award $20,024.75 to teachers to make possible innovative programs and opportunities that are beyond the reach of the school system's budget. Audio Library Maggie Clark Milton High School Purchase 5 MP3 players, a selection of audio books, & "hard copies" of the books.  This will help students who are not excited about reading or struggle with reading skills. $441.91
Technology Highway Beep, Beep Kathleen Kelley Milton High School Purchase interactive DVDs and movie titles to supplement the Humanities Dept resources. The students will have access to current technology while learning about history.    Also requested to buy a scanner in order to convert printed resources into DVDs. $1,000.00
Odyssey Live! John  Radosta Milton High School Provide funding for a one-man show of The Odyssey for all 9th graders and Latin classes.  The students will have a better understanding of the difficult book they are reading. $700.00
